A typical day at The Little School

Although at Little School we have a routine, it is flexible from day to day, which allows for teachers to visit to teach dance, drama and French and for special visits to be organised from visiting fireman or dentists etc. You will find a schedule on the wall of each section you visit.

A good schedule allows staff a routine to know what must be done, the essentials of feeding, nappies/toileting and set lessons must be accomodated, this also provides security to the children, however we must be flexible to a child's needs, adapting to children who may be tired or need more attention when for instance toilet training.

The schedule of activities will ensure the staff always have a balance of physical (outdoor, music & dancing, PE) and quiet activities (craft, indoor play, reading and jigsaws). In addition, they provide a good blend of staff and child led activities.
